Polishing Marmorino:
Tired of endless burnishing?..Wrists hurt? Tennis elbow acting up? Rotator cuff swollen?
These Venetian plaster finishes can be labor intensive.
Try this: When polishing up a Marmorino or other lime based polished plaster finish,
first give the surface a quick sand with 600 grit sandpaper. This can be purchased at most major
hardware stores. But the real tip is… (drum roll please...) Give a second sand with 2000 (yes, 2000)
grit sandpaper. This can be purchased from an auto paint supply shop. Put it on a nice palm sander,
give it some 'decent' pressure, and watch that high shine appear!! You'll be able to see yourself,
which may or may not be a good thing.
