Featured SAFS Student Mozelle, Spencer on Decorative Painting & Venetian Plaster
|

"Although raised in the Pacific Northwest, I am a "traveling gypsy" at heart. I
have traveled extensively, and much of the inspiration for my work has stemmed from my
travels. Whether a desired affect be old world European or a splash of Caribbean flavor...
I am the artist for you!"
"When I embraced the concept of following my artistic endeavors as a full-fledged career,
I sought to find the top educators in this field. Through ongoing classes, workshops and
Conventions I continue to pursue my calling with pride and purpose. I consider many of
the individuals that I have trained with to be my artistic mentors."

"However, I would like to make special mention of
Aaron Cohen
of the Seattle Architectural Finishing Studio. I have greatly benefited from their classes,
expansive knowledge and ongoing support. I have also trained with
Jennifer Carrasco,
a local Seattle Artist, known for her amazing work at The Palace Kitchen and The Ruins, both
located in Seattle. I have also studied with the following individuals that also share a great
passion and appreciation of the Faux Artistry Industry: Greg Frohnapfel and John Catalanotto
of Pro Faux, Victor De Masi, David Schmidt, Henri Menendez, Jeff Raum and Jennifer Ferguson.
I am thankful to all of them for supplying me with the knowledge and materials to turn my
imagination into a reality for others to see what I see."

Spencer is a member of the Emerald City Artisans League of which is a local chapter of the
National SALI.
Spencer served as a participant on the SALI Education Committee responsible for teacher selection
for the upcoming 2006 SALI Convention that will be held in Chicago where hundreds of artists

renowned Artisans. Spencer also founded a local mural and decorative painting group consisting
of twelve businesses called the "Professional Artisans League."
Mozelle by Design specializes in creating ambiance where an entire room is transformed
into a work of art through the use of Murals, Faux Finishes, Decorative Painting and
Venetian Plaster. Elegant to whimsical is how the projects are described-from children's
rooms to wine cellars, private homes to commercial applications. Please view the company website
at www.mozellebydesign.com
to enjoy a tour of their work. Of Special Mention is the Philanthropic portion of the website.
Mozelle by Design organized 30 artists to participate in creating a wall to wall
playground of art for the Children's Village's "Early Childhood Education Facility" owned and
operated by Vision House,
a non profit organization that provides transitional housing to homeless women and children
as well as separately to homeless men with addictions. The Gates Foundation donated one
million dollars to the building of the structure. The joy of bringing art to fruition is
priceless!

Mozelle by Design has appeared on two episodes of
HomeTeam,
a nationally syndicated television show with host, Troy McClain, known for the first season
of The Apprentice.
She considers
Aaron Cohen
of the Seattle Architectural Finishing Studio to be one of her Artistic Mentors. Mozelle
believes that SAFS is an integral part of her success due to the ongoing technical support
and additional classes. Each year she attends at least one Convention and two classes to
stay up to date on current products and trends in the Industry of Decorative Painting.
