Master Decorative Faux Painting and Venetian Plastering
From bold textures and velvety elegance on walls, to European plaster finishing and
intricate mural work, at Seattle Architectural Finishing Studio you will learn a variety
of art forms taught in hands-on sessions by
Aaron Cohen
and other gifted professionals in the field. Small, intimate, beginning to advanced
level classes are held at our Seattle studio.
The cost of all our workshops include all materials used. Tools will be provided. A
continental breakfast and lunch will be served. We limit all of our classes to 12
students so you're guaranteed to receive our full personal and professional attention
when you attend training through our studio.
This new series of classes will focus on the skills and materials necessary to install the
finest, most sought-after finishes. You'll have the opportunity to use lime and cement-based
as well as synthetic plasters, glazes, waxes, metallics and more to create stunning samples
that are in high demand by top designers and architects around the world. This series of

Students will work hands-on with lime slake ("Grisello") and marble flour based
Marmorino Carrara,
Marmorino Classic,
Marmorino Velvet,

and learn the correct methods of application and uses for these plasters.

Venetian Plastering III, Advanced Techniques*

This class will introduce you to many sophisticated, multi-layered Venetian Plaster
techniques including Puttanesca finish, striping, accents, borders, crackle plaster
techniques, super-high polish Venetian plasters and waxes, and much more. You'll learn
many different approaches to achieving impressive decorative design elements in this
intensive professional workshop.

Transfer Techniques for Mural Making 4 day workshop
Students will be shown a wide variety of surfaces for the application of murals, from types of
canvas to plaster to prepared mat board, plywood, and MDO. Student will experiment with transferring
images on to these surfaces using a variety of methods ranging from pouncing to grids and tracing
paper with Bestine and pastel. The students will work with each method and surface, and at the
end of the class will have a sample collection of each type of surface to show to a client, as
well as a notebook of techniques and sources. This workshop is taught by veteran muralist,
Jennifer Carrasco.
